What is counselling?
Counselling offers you a non-judgemental, confidential place within which to talk through what is going on in your life. It can help you to feel better, get through difficult times and to make positive life changes. Counselling provides a unique relationship where you can solve problems, feel better, enhance your life, experience personal development, understanding and growth.

How I work
I am an integrative counsellor , a member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy and a member of the Voluntary Register. As an integrative counsellor I combine together different approaches to working as I believe no two people are the same. I will always endeavour to be authentic and real with you, and offer you empathy, respect, reliability, warmth and compassion.
I frequently integrate: Person centred therapy, creative and art therapy, play therapy, psychodrama, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, Emotional Freedom Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Neuro Linguistic Programming, Emotional Freedom Therapy, inner child work and relaxation. What to Expect:
The Initial Appointment is an opportunity for you to ask questions, discuss what has brought you to counselling and for us to decide if we would like to work together.
We go through the business elements of our working arrangements, from what information I keep, to costs, regularity and length of sessions and confidentiality.
My aim for this initial appointment is that you will leave feeling sure of how you want to proceed, confident that all your questions have been answered and feeling hopeful for positive change. If you would like to begin counselling straight away this can be arranged, just mention this at our first contact.
What happens next:
- Both short and long term counselling is available; fixed duration or open ended.
- Counselling finishes when you feel ready. Many clients first move to bi-weekly and monthly appointments prior to ending.
- An ending session is special as it celebrates how far you have come and looks forward to the future. It’s nice to mark this occasion in some way, which we can discuss as we come closer to finishing.
When we have finished working together, you are not on your own. You can call to book an appointment at any time. I also offer email support between sessions.
